This sketch was generated at Hayley’s desk, and represents a quick attempt to illustrate how a universally accessible series of ramps and and landings might engage a landscape of gardens, play, and outdoor classrooms. The pathway becomes a meander, or series of switchbacks, which might be framed by pathways tuned to a more kinetic mobility focused on skateboards, bikes, and wheel barrows. The topography is very different in the project site, but a connection could be made to the interlaced garden paths of Villa d’Este in Tivoli, Italy.
